When fall comes, there’s so much I want to do. Like take in the beautiful fall foliage, sitting next to a fire pit and socializing with friends, trying a new one pot dish recipe for supper, or just going to the farmer’s market for some fresh fall produce.
However, you plan to savor fall, make sure to be accompanied by one of my favorite classic fall cocktails…. The Manhattan. When I lived in New York City, I spent many of dinners relishing this comforting cocktail that warmed me up from the chilly falls breeze and blistering winters winds. Here’s a recipe to try.
Manhattan Cocktail Recipe
3 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. sweet vermouth
3 dashes Angostura bitters
1 maraschino cherry
Mix whiskey, vermouth, and bitters in a shaker with ice; stir to chill. Strain into a martini glass, or a rocks glass with ice; garnish with cherry.
