Local Dining: Las Terrenas, Samaná – Dominican Republic

What would a great vacation be without great food? We found that the city of Las Terrenas has no shortage of great places to dine. The most amazing part of dining like a local is that you have the opportunity to fit in and connect with their culture. Food brings everyone together, so here are our suggestions.

PORTO

The open-air, beachfront restaurant boasts the largest wine cellar in the Dominican Republic with a focus on incredibly fresh seafood and a reinterpretation of traditional Dominican dishes.The perfect place to enjoy breakfast as the sunrise with their delicious passion fruit punch, or having a toast to paradise as the sun sets with a mouth watering frozen porto.

LUIS

Dine with a view on Playa Coson at Restaurant Luis. You will not find menus here, but you will find fresh handpicked seafood and exceptional service. You have the option to choose the catch of the day which may be lobster, mai mai, shrimp, or red snapper. Also, your meal wouldn’t be complete without accompanying it with coconut water right off the tree or a delicious piña coladas served fresh in a pineapple. That’s right, dining in paradise.

Colonial Risto Lounge

Located in fisherman’s village, get your Italian fix at this divine beachfront restaurant. With avery unique variety of creamy and delicious risottos to scrumptious bacon wrapped shrimp skewers with pineapples, this place is nothing short of amazing.

One Love Surfshack

Known for their burgers and wings you can definitely stop by for a quick lunch and walk on the beach. Located in the fisherman’s village just minutes away from the resort, this beachside bar is perfect for a beer and burger kind of lunch.

Boulangerie Francaise

In the city of Las Terrenas most of the restaurants are not open until dinner, however this bakery/bistro is one of the best go to restaurants for breakfast. It is trendy and located on a busy street next to an art gallery and cute souvenirs shop. The French bakery is filled with tourists and locals alike, so you’ll fit right in. Make sure to grab delicious tart or a chewy brownie for dessert.
